NICOLA ALBERY
Counsellor and EMDR Therapist

With an extensive background in providing accessible psychological therapy, Nicola brings a wealth of experience and deep understanding of mental health concerns to her private practice .

Nicola’s approach is calm, non-judgmental and down-to-earth. She offers a welcoming space to engage in counselling and is committed to supporting clients to feel at ease and to feel understood, thus supporting them to make sense of their issues.

Her pathway into private practice has been navigated by a passion to help individuals heal from trauma and reduce uncomfortable symptoms such as anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation and behavioural changes. With a special interest in trauma processing, Nicola utilises Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, along with other evidence-based therapeutic approaches to help adults heal from past traumas and to address current stressors including family, work, medical and perinatal-related concerns. Couples counselling is also offered as a therapeutic modality.

Each session with Nicola is designed to be supportive and provide value in helping clients to sit with difficult feelings and where appropriate, motivate change towards desired goals.
